A Magnificent Feeling
What does a challenge mean to you? To me, it means I have to try my hardest and never give up. Someone once stated, "A difficult challenge brings out the best in people." This is true because the harder the challenge, the harder you try. The harder you try, the more you win. The more you win, the more satisfied you are. And that brings us to the point. The happiest, most delightful feeling comes out of you.
The rain pounded hard on my face. The people stood in silence. The gun went off. I ran. I was running in a three mile race on a cold, brisk afternoon with the rain coming down hard. Quickly running past people, I glanced up at the mile marker clock. 10 minutes and 13 seconds. Reaching the end of the race, I looked at the clock. It ticked, 28:58, 28:59. I sprinted as hard as I could. The wind blew in my face, almost like the top of Mount Everest. Tick tock, tick tock. I finished with a time of 29 minutes. Trying my hardest through tough obstacles, I felt magnificent.
How do you think some of the toughest athletes in the world got to where they are today? Let's take the New York Giants for example. How do you think they won the Super Bowl? They faced many losses and challenges, but eventually won the Super Bowl and felt outstanding.
I read the book, "The Journey to the Center of the Earth. While going deeper and deeper, they faced many obstacles. During their expedition, they ran out of water. Eventually reaching the center, they found prehistoric animals. All of the men were as excited as they would ever be.
Whitney Houston inspired me to face some tough challenges. She was able to get to the top of her career. When she starred in the hit movie, "The Bodyguard". She later hit a rough road in her life when she started doing drugs. Her recent death made me think about the challenges that I have faced in my life.
As you can see, all of these challenges brought out the best in people. Whether it be me, the Giants, or the adventurers who accomplished their dream, everyone was happy at the end. Knowing the quote can help you to face your challenges. I wouldn't have been so excited as I was if I hadn't faced so many challenges on my journey through life.
